Edit Project

Main

Status

You can archive completed or canceled projects in the edit projects section so that they are not displayed in the projects table. If a project is archived, the tasks of that project will not be displayed in the tasks table, my tasks, taskboard, calendar, as well as in the schedule and time sheet. By default, archived projects are not displayed in the projects table, unless you use the filter option and set the status column to Archived.

Contract/program

The contract or program is higher than the project. You can have several contracts with one customer and define several projects for one contract. To define the contract, click on the three dots and then the + icon. (To define a new contract or edit existing contracts, you can also refer to the basic definitions.) If you have already defined a contract in the basic definitions section, in the project definition module, you can select the contract by clicking on the three dots in front of the contract row. Note that if you select a customer first, only the contracts of this customer will be displayed in the row of contracts for selection.

Portfolio/customer

The customer is at a higher level than the contract. You can have several contracts with one customer and define several projects for one contract. To define the customer, click on the three dots and then the + icon. (To define a new customer or edit existing customers, you can also refer to the basic definitions.) If you have already defined a customer in the basic definitions section, in the project definition module, you can select the customer by clicking on the three dots in front of the customer row.

Manager

You can choose the project manager from users who have been given the project manager permission in the user management section. To select the project manager, click on the three dots in front of the manager row. A project manager is a person who has special access to his project.

Start date

Enter the project start date in this field. If you leave this field blank, after defining the project tasks, the lowest start date of these tasks will be considered as the project start date.

Finish date

Enter the Finish date of the project in this field. If you leave this field blank, after defining the project tasks, the maximum due date of these tasks will be considered as the Finish date of the project.

Project team

Select the project team members from the people you have invited to TaskBrowse in the user management section. These individuals will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to the project. Once you determine the project team members, you can specify their access levels.

  • View assigned tasks:
Any team member with this access can only view tasks assigned to their team unless they have additional permissions in the user management section.
  • View all tasks:
Any team member with this access can view all tasks related to the project, even if they are not part of the assigned team.
  • Edit all tasks:
Any team member with this access can view and edit all tasks within the project, even if they are not part of the assigned team. They also have permission to add new tasks to the project.

Extra

Project cost category

By default, there are two types of costs, billable and nonbillable, in TaskBrowse. To define the new cost category, refer to the basic definitions section. If you select the project cost type billable, all tasks of this project are included in the wage cost calculations (unless the task itself is assigned a different cost type). If you set the cost type to nonbillable, by default project tasks are not included in wage cost calculations.

Project custom field

You can add your desired fields to the projects table by clicking on the gear icon and selecting the custom field.

You can add 10 custom fields of any number, text, and date to the table. It is also possible to add a Selection field. To add a selection field, select the text field, and then activate the combo option, and define the items of the selection field. Fill in the custom fields from the edit project and Extra section.
